There are two parts of the GenEd curriculum at IU: The Common Ground and Shared Goals.
Common Ground requirements apply to all undergraduate degree-seeking students at IUB. Shared Goals are program-specific and vary depending on major and school. Your advisor can help you plan a course of study that includes all of these requirements.
No matter which type of undergraduate degree you pursue in the College, you must fulfill certain College-wide degree requirements. These are called CASE (College of Arts and Sciences Education) requirements, and they ensure that you receive a broad liberal arts education that provides the fundamental knowledge, skills, and experiences essential for a successful, meaningful life.
