When working towards your undergraduate degree, it’s great to have someone who can help you with the daily business of being a student. In AAADS, that person is Shauna Melvin, our undergraduate advisor. If you are curious about our department, she can answer your questions.

Once you are admitted to the department, Shauna will work with you to plan an individualized program of study. She can help you select coursework based on your particular interests, determining courses that satisfy GenEd and CASE requirements. She can also help you coordinate coursework when combining a minor or double major with your degree.

CASE requirements

No matter which type of undergraduate degree you pursue in the College, you must fulfill certain College-wide degree requirements. These are called CASE (College of Arts and Sciences Education) requirements, and they ensure that you receive a broad liberal arts education that provides the fundamental knowledge, skills, and experiences essential for a successful, meaningful life.
