Dr. Raymond Wise, professor of practice in AAADS, served as keynote speaker at the Louis Armstrong Center for Music and Medicine Conference for music therapists. Dr. Wise is also the director of the African American Choral Ensemble and associate director of the African American Arts Institute at IU.
His presentation focused on the expression of pain and healing as evidenced in African American music. He also presented a session on singing in the gospel style as a means of promoting healing through music. The conference took place in New York City.
